Here is a selection of representative projects completed by Karabiner Software:

Karabiner Software helped a Japanese mega-bank complete a critical project to report FX derivatives to global regulators to meet Dodd-Frank and EMIR OTC derivatives global reporting compliance requirements. We performed data mapping tests, coordinated and managed global team video conference meetings and worked with overseas offices to present to U.S. financial regulators. Required technical know-how as well as derivative product knowledge. Japanese-English reading, writing and speaking abilities required to work with international teams in NY, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and other global offices. Also required keeping on top of global regulation requirements and schedules.

After completing a trade reporting regulatory compliance project for a Japanese mega-bank, we were asked to also help with a Dodd-Frank record keeping compliance project. We worked with business and systems teams, as well as vendor HP, to ensure all necessary pre-execution, execution and post-execution data was kept in compliance with U.S. Dodd-Frank derivatives regulation requirements. Voice data, market data, execution data and marketing data was retrieved from various bank systems and consolidated into HP Autonomy’s data-warehouse and search engine solution.

Karabiner Software was hired as part of a team to implement Murex for a cross-the-board derivatives trading, operations, settlement and reporting project at a major Japanese securities firm. Implemented process flows and reports in Murex. Worked with technical team to test and improve performance. Developed custom cashflow management module. Conducted regular video conferences with overseas offices (Tokyo, London, NYC) in English and Japanese.

Karabiner Software designed and developed a custom Initial Margin calculation and reporting module using open source components, including Open Gamma pricing library. The solution provides aggregation by portfolio and various ways to visualize trade information, risk calculations and limits. Prototype was completed rapidly to conclude proof-of-concept phase successfully.

Karabiner Software was hired for two different Japanese mega-bank projects to help implement IBM Algo Risk risk management package. Worked with one mega-bank to implement infrastructure to deploy risk management application to various overseas offices. Worked with another mega-bank to help test and verify the pricing models for various financial products.

Karabiner Software created an infrastructure stack to streamline and automate development, testing and deployment for the client’s clearing system development team. Used several open source components to architect custom solution. Required cleaning up existing development environment, streamlining and automating build and unit testing process and educating teams on best-practices. Project resulted in bugs being caught much earlier, fewer bugs being deployed to productions environments and simpler, quicker build and deploy process. Project also included adding dashboard to monitor development, testing and errors.
